The CMD welcomes Professor Edward Telles, who joined the Princeton Sociology Department in Fall 2008 as a new Center Faculty Affiliate. Telles has achieved wide recognition for his study of race relations in Brazil and more recently for his longitudinal analysis of Mexican-American patterns of educational and occupational mobility across generations. He is joined at Princeton by his spouse, Ana Maria Goldani, a Brazilian demographer who is joining the Center as a Faculty Affiliate as well.

The Center also welcomes Assistant Professor of Sociology Angel Harris as a Faculty Affiliate. Harris came to Princeton from the University of Texas - Austin in 2007. He has written extensively on ethnic and race relations, social stratification, and the existence and effects of "oppositional culture" among Puerto Rican and other minority youths in the United States. Welcome to all!
